I wish I could believe that. So far I see that Cyberspace is what probably made possible the revolution in Egypt - but what really triggered it was a recent doubling of the population, and the threat of starvation. Old Malthusian stuff. Facebook can't help them with that.

While we don't want the gov to have free access to our trillions of twits - recall that the IRS was exerting direct influence on the democratic process. It was determining who will get elected. I was under the impression, Mq, that you feel strongly about such things. It's not just a little politicking... When people discover that sending a hundred bucks to the Tea party will a) not be tax deductible, and b) may quite likely earn them an audit.... many, perhaps most, will stay away.
