I never purchased the book, as the white paper that it was based upon was available for free almost a year before the book came out.

Many are making light of the book because of the oft mentioned excel spreadsheet error, but that is only a fraction of what the studies Reinhart and Rogoff's work embody.

If you want a great read, here's Chapter 8 of David Stockman's recent book. Zero Hedge published it a couple months back, and it has some very insightful looks at the Great Depression, particularly the role of reparation payments and export vendor financing in the making of the Great Depression. It's 32-pages long on the Scribid.
