Bill, Agile was acquired by Lucent last year. It is in Ma near Boxboro (where I live). Agile does ATM switching but for LAN's. It would supplement Ascends ATM over WAN switching. So, these are two different product sets and have synergy... Apart from that Ascend has the GRF switch the fastest. It does switching over WAN and mainly used by ISP's in the backbone. So, asend would provide Frame Relay, GRP, ATM/WAN for the backbone. Note: forthcoming products would be the Sahara & IP Navigator products.... Hence, there is NO clash between Agile's and the possible Ascend's acquisition by LUCENT. Now, there are rumors (UBS securities report) that livingston has a TNT type RAS product under development. But, there are further rumors that the TNT platform will be enchnaced such that what livingston/cisco produces will be outdated. Note: I say rumors since it appeared on the net and no solid news release... The thing to watch is voice over IP and ascend is going to make a play for it (as CISCO has)... Happy investing, immi
