I can understand why you would have hesitated with FIO yesterday, as early in the day it set another 52 week low. I was also debating to take a position in it but chose MLNX instead. It worked out beautifully and I had no idea it would explode up.

If you can afford to leg into a position, you may want to consider buying partial positions that won't kill you if they go south. I strongly recommend tight stops if you are buying into stock near 52 week lows or stocks that you "think" are about to reverse a downtrend. We took a relatively small position in MLNX based on this concept.

I noticed your BMC purchases. I was a bit curious but now I understand why (based on your explanation).
