A New Jersey woman was viciously attacked by a man while her 3-year-old daughter watched — and the girl’s baby monitor captured the brutal assault.

MyFoxNY.com reports that the unidentified woman was attacked early Friday in her home in Millburn. Police said the suspect broke down a door to get into the house and repeatedly punched and kicked the woman before throwing her down a flight of stairs.

"I knew that if I started to scream my daughter would too and I was afraid he would shoot at her. I took it and I didn't cry the entire time," the unnamed victim told News 12. "They need to help us get him off the street. He's not just a burglar, he's violent."

The woman suffered a concussion and was briefly hospitalized, News 12 reports.

The suspect, who stole jewelry from the home, was described by authorities as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds with a salt-and-pepper beard.

75% of LA TIMES readers who voted support the claim of Anne Rice that Paula Deen is being "crucified".

latimes.com

"I never heard of her until today, and wow, this looks like a crucifixion," Rice wrote. "I may be wrong but aren't we becoming something of a lynch mob culture?"

When an African American educator from the South wrote to share her disappointment that Rice would be a defender of Deen, the author didn't back down.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you but I think she's being crucified," she wrote. "The lawsuit is ugly all right, and the brother of Paula Dean comes off as a detestable person. But I don't think Paula Deen should go down over this. I think it's unfair."
