Um, "shore up," not "short up." Sorry.

I told you about those psychological effects,
Marc

Marc:

One of the reasons I gave for the drop in Apple stock is that Apple is having problems finding a CEO. Then I read the Mercury article which your referenced that describes how a leading candidate (or thee candidate) backed out. Why? Does he/she smell dead meat??
Here is another interesting aside. My wife was going to buy me some computer gift. She wouldn't tell me what it is but she made 5 contacts trying to find what she wanted to buy. I suspect, but not sure, it is a scanner. I won't know until December 25th. The store(s) had expensive ones-in the $1000 range but not what she was looking for. One salesman, after finding out it was for an Apple, stated: "Apple is dead." Whether this is true or not is another story but the PERCEPTION is devastating. Nothing has been done to agressively change the perception about Apple. This all points to a dull and inept advertising campaign. Jobs is not aggressive enough. I wanted more slam-bang ads. I think Apple should of come out with for the Christmas season is a $900 computer that has a monitor included in the price or one that can run on a television screen. This would of been a tremendous draw. Snails pace. I feel that Jobs/Elleson are purposely grinding this company into the ground.
