Dan, I am waitting too! :o) Thanks for summing up so eloquently our points of view.

I think that you are absolutely correct, and that is why I will re-establish a position as soon as the December quarter ends. After it becomes apparent that there will be no warning (which I think is a week after the quarter ends), we will have a rally going into the announcement. I honestly think that if there is no warning this week, there won't be one.

IMO, if GTW has the margins and sales volume to meet or exceed estimates this quarter, they are well on the road to recovery and the stock will do the same.

Brian

DWW

I have been in California so long, I forgot there is the rest of America that thinks, lives, eats and works differently. I guess I see my own bias.

<< I think you have a great grip on logic 101, but you
also need to complete Marketing 101. >>

Again with my California bias and tech only friend circle, I would say that anyone can go into internet, newspapers, magazines and even SI and easily compare prices thereby rendering marketing ineffective. And of course we know that INTC makes most of the computer and the rest of them just slap together the chips or buy and install completed modules.

<< GTW has not lowered its price because they do not have to. >>

Time will tell.

<< If you were a XMAS customer, how would you feel if GTW lowered its price a
week ot two after you ordered your computer. >>

<< (GTW) does not have to lower
its price because anyone that wants a computer for XMAS would have had to
order it by now or it will not be delivered before XMAS. >>

Not in Caifornia. And not via mail order. You can get a computer even 2 days before christmas via overnight fed-ex.

I would be pissed. Same would be true if someone else with the same specs was offering at a much lower price.

Mr. Wells,

Thank you for sharing your view.

Could you explain from your point perspective the reasons why Gateway posted a loss last quarter, and what changed since to make it suddenly so profitable this quarter considering the competition more intense and the asian market got only bleaker?

Thank you.
