No evidence other than that an ancient history describes it. I'm referring to the Bible.
The bible is a collection of stories that have been translated, changed, modified, altered and edited by the Catholic Church over thousands of years. To rely on the bible as a historical guide puts you on very slippery footing.
The Egptian captivity and enslavement fits with the nature of ancient societies so that's plausible.
Technology does not make us better and in many ways ancient Egypt was as advanced as we are today. In Texas a McDonald's every couple of blocks might be considered by you as modern achievement but the invention of penicillin and nuclear fusion would be what really sets us apart from the ancients.
Since we know the Hebrews settled in Canaan, if there was an Egyptian enslavement, there must have been an exodus from Egypt.
I'm sure there was some enslavement and perhaps people migrated but it would be akin to a a few hundred Mexicans hoofing it across the Rio Grande. Their tales would be stretched and elaborated for their kids and grand kids and why not. We all like to blow our own horn and stories always get bigger in the telling and as they're passed down they get changed, modified, altered, edited with other nuances from other story tellers.
