Bill, thanks for that link, it was very interesting. I had been under the impression previously that modem pooling for ADSL would be a desirable feature.

I expect Netspeed is going to get a good percentage of its business from ISPs and CLECs due to this feature. RBOCs may or may not consider it important. However, not withstanding WSTLs comments, modem pooling is a good feature for RBOCs if you just consider the fact they like redundancy in equipment. If an ATU-C were to go down in Netspeeds architecture, a second ATU-C could take over. An RBOC can still do 1 to 1 ATU-R to ATU-C pooling and have a hot-spare automatically take over in event of failure. I think that is a rather important feature.
