The Catholic church dates to sometime after Constantine and the bible text had been fixed by then. Historians like Josephus show the text of the OT was essentially the same 2000 years ago as it is now. There's no reason to think the Bible is any less reliable than any other ancient historical source. I'm sure there was some enslavement and perhaps people migrated but it would be akin to a a few hundred Mexicans hoofing it across the Rio Grande. Their tales would be stretched and elaborated Now you're admitting the enslavement and exodus was reasonable, but you just question how many people were involved. That's a totally different issue. Mars had been arguing flat out, it never happened at all and he knows that and besides the whole story was made up to copy Sargon's birth story.
