Republicans have allowed the idiots to hijack the party, so they are doomed for the next couple decades unless some moderation emerges. The history of immigration debate in AZ is absolutely hilarious: Business men bring in immigrants, paying them to get here, promising free school, good wages, and all sorts of other perks ON PURPOSE... i.e. they advertise in Mexico to get them up here. They tell the complaining Unions what idiots they are and how "hard working Mexicans" will simply do jobs Americans won't (true in large part probably)... Business can also cut them lose easier than an American... Then when they lose status (i.e. the job) and are now "illegal", they go to work at a hotel or golf course... no problem... but no "papers" for a couple decades.... SUDDENLY all the business clam up when the idiots ride into town crowing about the million of "illegals" in AZ and how they're all drug dealers who snuck across the boarder. Of course now as the idiots fade business just slowly ignore the whole thing and keeps hiring illegals like always now that it's all blown over. The AZ law as always destined for the dustbin, it's just that idiot promoters all across the country touted the "courage" of the lawmakers and held up AZ as some sort of "SEE! THIS ILLEGAL THING IS SUCH A PROBLEM!!" "ARIZONA WANT TO GET RID OF THEM"!! Ummmm, NOT! Neither does Texas... fully 1/2 of ALL CONSTRUCTION WORKERS IN TEXAS RIGHT NOW are illegals. Whose running around trying to send 'em home??? Construction companies?? GOVERNOR Perry??? Not a chance.... they're playing golf together and PERRY is making sure every thing is all just fine. The proof is in the republican lawmakers in the boarder states... every one of 'em with 1/2 a brain recognize that this business that they all "came here illegally" is complete and utter non-sense. The recognize how horrifically unfair it would be to "send them all home"... Just look at how many CONSERVATIVE lawmakers in Texas, N.M, Arizona are FOR immigration reform.... THOSE are the conservatives with 1/2 a brain and a bit of morality in their bones... AND they know the history... their families & buddies brought them here. DAK
