The universe has laws and forces that act to produce predictable effects. This may be termed "design". However, this in no way changes the fact that all the gods we have invented are imaginary and cannot exist. As to "intelligent" design, it seems to me that on a grand scale true intelligence would require something outside of the deterministic paradigm. On a final note, an intelligent designer would act WITH intelligence--and would not exhibit qualities of primitive humans and other idiots... Now go sacrifice a lamb for Aaron and his family and Haggard and Falwell and all the other mouth-pieces to suck the marrow from. And make sure it is one of your GOOD ONES! No blemishes... or your whole family and tribe will get a damn good shit-kicking!
