Actually John Templeton admits to making one mistake out of every three stocks he picks. The worst mistake in common stock investment is the "one decision" stock idea of the later 1960s. A bank trust department put almost all my mother's money into one stock, Eastman Kodak--changing their mind, of course, some years later after cutting her capital in half.
