or the very simple reason that Obama, Geithner, and Bernanke felt the best way to get out of a Great Depression was to not prosecute the criminal bankers. They feared discrediting the financial industry. So they swept it under the rug.

Maybe they balanced pros and cons. If so, it seems to be working. Better than a Great Depression, right? Truth is in the pudding.

You should pay a lot more attention to what Senator Warren has to say. She's one of our sharpest Senators. Oh and btw, read up on the MERS scandal. There was widespread fraud and criminality, not to mention collusion among bankers. Then there's the pay for ratings scandal with S&P. There were so many ways to send these guys to prison that it's obvious Holder just didn't try. They have successfully made getting caught for serial criminality among the bankers just a cost of doing business.

Honestly, you think there ever wasn't corruption in the finance industry? The whole thing is based on trying to skim $'s from the other guy. Thats the entire business model. It's the ultimate buyer beware business. Be great if we could change it going forward, as Warren is trying to do, but don't think it's just become corrupt. It's always been like this, much of the time a lot worse.
