Lawyer after lawyer has opined on the subject ad nauseam and declared it does not matter who starts the fight under SYG - while you may think or wish it was otherwise. I am not arguing about a fight between two individuals. I am saying that if one person criminally assaults another person, the person that criminally assaults the other can not use SYG to justify the assault. If the prosecution can prove that Zimmerman criminally assaulted Martin, then Zimmerman will not be covered by SYG and will also be convicted of murder. However... in this case, they will NEVER prove that Zimmerman assaulted Martin because the evidence shows that Martin criminally assaulted Zimmerman. Zimmerman is certainly covered under SYG, but even without SYG, Zimmerman will be found not guilty. I think that Zimmerman is not using SYG, at this time, because he wants the evidence to clear him of any wrong doing, in the hopes that elements of the black community will stop the threats on his life.
