Hi everyone, I've been lurking in this thread for months now but I just got my SI membership today so this is my first post.

I have 2 concerns. I live in Vancouver, BC and the local Office Depot says that they have never carried and it does not look like they will ever carry CompactFlash cards in their store. I was surprised to hear this since the press release almost 3 weeks ago said that Sandisk CF cards are already at these stores. Has anyone checked their local Office Depot or any of those 7 other chain stores mentioned in the press release for availability of Sandisk products?

My 2nd concern was mentioned a few days ago: internal competition. In the last few weeks, at least 2 companies announced their own CompactFlash cards. Before that there were already several other companies that sell CompactFlash cards. Is Sandisk destined to lose market share? Will CompactFlash become a commodity like DRAM? The only reassurance for me is that Sandisk seems to be very strong with OEMs, especially the digital camera makers.

Oh yeah, to avoid any confusion, I'm very long on SNDK. Don't want to be accused of being a short spreading ugly rumors ;)

Hope to hear everyone's thoughts... :)

Mike -

I agree wholeheartedly with being cautious about any kind of statement regarding future earnings but enhancing the company's standing in the investment community can be achieved quite well without having to refer to future earnings.

The fund managers are usually quite quick on aprreciating the potenital of a piece of new technology especially if the company has patents. The thing is you either believe in the Company ( including the managment, the technology, the market, the competition or lack of it) or you don't. The future earnings will come as a result of all the above .

I'm sure they're doing it all but I'd prefer to see a bit more profile. Elli was VERY good on CNBC during the summer. Lets see him some more. Lets get good image package going to get the name into the publics mind. There are all sorts of amazing demos you can do with this equipment which will impress anyone who sees it. All of this can be fuel for a good PR program.
