Your original statement was the rich pay less and now, when proven wrong, you've moved to the liberals old stand by... They don't pay enough and then you break into a little Streisand "The way we were".

There are no efficiencies in gov. Only in the free market.

Compare your chart with the taxes paid when Ike was president and we had a great middle class.
Do you really believe that changes in US tax policy are the major cause of the workforce changes in the past 50 years? Are none of the other factors significant? Globalization? Automation? The post war rebuilding of Japan and Europe? The entry of large numbers of women into the formal workforce? The relentless growth of govt? Isn't it possible that these factors are more important than the tax rate paid by a small number of rich people?
