Not according to my cable company. They have told me I have to wait 2 years before cable modem service will be ready. Carig, It would interesting to know why they need to wait. Do they not wish to bother? Do they not understand the technology, etc. The 75 ohm coax is all that is needed as far as infrastructure. Glenn

It's because cable network has very limited manageability. You pay $40/month to get some of the channels that are pumped into every customer all the time (BTW, the cable guy has to replace those one-way amplifiers first), now how do they charge you when you download 1 gigabits of data while your neighbor only sends 2 lines of email?
