Facebook said it would not remove a page dubbed " RIOT for Trayvon" claiming it "doesn't violate our community standard on credible threat of violence."

Later, the site apparently yanked the page but left another called "Kill Zimmerman" as is. A Breitbart News contributor reached out to Facebook today asking the company to review "RIOT for Trayvon." The page, which had 152 "likes," included this paragraph (warning -- explicit language):

They don't think we will tear this mutha fucka up! LIKE IF YOU READY TO RIDE! LETS FLEX OUR MUSCLE! WHAT,YOU SCARED?

A picture accompanying the page featured a person lying unconscious.

FACEBOOK responded that it reviewed the page in question and did not feel the need to block it.

A short time later, the site could no longer be found on Facebook.

However, "Kill Zimmerman," which has 73 "likes," still existed on the site. It, too, was reported by at least one Facebook user for a possible "hate speech" violation, with Facebook responding in a similar fashion.

muslim Husband blindfolds his wife.... and then chops off her fingers to stop her studying for a degree

The Daily Mail ^ | December 17, 2011 | Daily Mail Reporter

A jealous husband is facing life in prison after chopping off his wife's fingers because she began studying for a degree without his permission.

Rafiqul Islam, 30, blindfolded his wife Hawa Akhter, 21, and taped her mouth, telling her he was going to give her a surprise present.

Instead he made her hold out her hand and cut off all five fingers. One of his relatives then threw Ms Akhter's fingers in the dustbin to ensure doctors could not reattach them.

Mr Islam, who is a migrant worker in the United Arab Emirates, had warned his wife there would 'severe consequences' if she did not give up her studies.

'After he came back to Bangladesh, he wanted to have a discussion with me,' Ms Akhter told The Times.

'Suddenly, he blindfolded me and tied my hand. He also taped my mouth saying that he would give me some surprise gifts. But, instead he cut off my fingers.'

Mohammed Saluddin, the Bangladesh police chief said that Mr Islam had confessed after he was arrested in the capital, Dhaka, and will face charges of permanent disfiguration.

Human rights groups are demanding life imprisonment.

Lois Lerner’s price for testimony: Immunity
........................................................................................
By: Rachael Bade and John Bresnahan July 2, 2013

Embattled IRS official Lois Lerner will not testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee unless she’s given immunity from prosecution, her lawyer told POLITICO
Tuesday.

“They can obtain her testimony tomorrow by doing it the easy way … immunity,” William W. Taylor III said in a phone interview. “That’s the way to resolve all of this.” The comments reflect the hard-line approach Lerner, the former head of the IRS division that scrutinized conservative groups, and her legal team are taking in defending her role in the agency’s scandal.

Taylor, a founding partner of Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, is even shrugging off the possibility that the full House might vote to hold Lerner in contempt. “None of this matters,” he said. “I mean, nobody likes to be held in contempt of Congress, of course, but the real question is one that we’re fairly confident about, and I don’t think any district judge in the country would hold that she waived.”

The oversight panel voted along party lines last week that Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights at a May 22 hearing when she boldly declared her innocence in the IRS scandal and said she violated no laws — then invoked her constitutional protections to ward off self-incriminating questions from lawmakers. Republicans immediately argued that Lerner forfeited her Fifth Amendment right by speaking and they should be allowed to question her opening statement. Legal experts disagree about whether she actually did.

But in the eyes of the committee, Lerner — who was placed on administrative leave after refusing the new IRS leader’s request to resign — is obligated to now answer questions related to her earlier statement. “The committee is entitled to Ms. Lerner’s full and truthful testimony without further conditions,” said panel spokesman Frederick Hill in a statement to POLITICO. “If, however, Ms. Lerner’s attorney is interested in discussing limited immunity, the committee will listen.” Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio), a senior oversight Republican helping oversee the IRS investigation, said the panel is still hopeful she’ll come to the committee on her own free will, arguing that questions of immunity and contempt are “down the road.”

“We hope she comes in and gives us the truth and answers questions,” Jordan said in a brief phone interview Tuesday. “If that doesn’t happen, then you cross the next bridge. … If she says, ‘No, I’m going to come in and assert my Fifth Amendment rights again and not going to speak,’ then you think about what the other options are.” Oversight Republicans have not yet decided when or how to recall Lerner, but if she refuses to answer questions on her proclamation of innocence, they say she could face contempt charges.

Taylor, however, said he is not afraid of that threat and is willing to take the issue to federal court if necessary.

What Obama Did on His Summer Vacation: Kill 760,000 Jobs
................................................................

Excerpt:

Prepare for your electric rates to go up, Chevy Jolt drivers. That's what happens when Obama goes on vacation.

Under executive fiat, the EPA will shortly be forcing the shutdown of the rest of the coal fired plants in the United States. Obama closed about 20 percent of them in 2011 when he went on vacation in Martha's Vineyard.

With a bigger vacation budget this year, he probably figured "What the hell? Why not close the rest of them?"

Since coal generates about half the electricity demanded in the US, the country will have to find other, more expensive ways of making up half of the electrical capacity at a time that the administration wants electric to be the clean fuel of choice.

Ironically, as I posted previously, just a few weeks ago I got a whiney email from the public relations guy at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, complaining that the number of nuclear reactors going up to generate electric is lower than they anticipated.

Maybe Obama doesn’t understand that he can’t import electricity from Brazil. No nuclear, no coal? OK, I get it. This is how Obama bails out his buddies in the solar business, including Buffet and G.E.

That solar costs more and isn't clean probably has some advantages for Obama.

In addition to the loss of electrical generating capacity, the Commerce Department estimated that when they killed just 20 percent of coal fired plants they killed up to 60,000 jobs, according to Heritage, while an industry trade group said that the rules will cost $129 billion, according to the Washington Post.

So that's...carry the two, divide by 5.... That's 60,000 direct jobs in power plants, another 82,000 jobs in mining, and 30,000 jobs in coal transport plus associated jobs.

According to the The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity the new initiatives will cost the country 760,000 jobs in total.

“If the Obama administration fails to recognize the environmental progress the industry has made and continues to adopt more regulations," said ACCCE's head Mike Duncan, "coal power could cease to exist which would be devastating for our economy.”

Since when has Obama ever cared about the economy? Or jobs.

During the 2008 presidential campaign then-Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden both claimed that if elected they would institute policies that make it cost prohibitive for coal-fired plants to operate in the United States.

Looks like this is one promise they’ll keep.

State Parks pricing out the public
.......................................................................................................
SFGate.com ^ | 07/09/13 | SanFransisco Gate Staff

In its new mission to extract every dollar possible out of park visitors, California State Parks is pricing itself out of reach of many, starting with young families, city kids and young adults. So is the Department of Fish and Wildlife, which charges the highest-priced fishing licenses in America and yet is providing the public with less than ever this summer. Ten years ago, it cost $2 to park and $12 to camp at state parks. Now it’s $10 to park and $35 and up to camp. State Parks wants to add electronic self-pay stations, where you pay by credit card. That would allow them to add new pay sites without adding staff, and also add specialty fees, such as for “premium campsites.”
