and it wasn't a paradise to begin with. Even sticking to economic issues ("and ignoring things like the much more prevalent, and even government imposed, racism), the poor and middle class were worse off then. Sure they where "more equal", but that just means the rich have done even better since then. All broad income defined groups do better now than in the 50s. If the rich get richer even faster, that hardly hurts me, (Esp. because its not a defined class of rich, people move up and down, in to and out of that group all the time.)
