Richard or whoever you are,

"Also, the SI lurkers then get to "play" SI
posting without joining."

Not so! As you need to join to view an e-mail address as it requires a password and username to view the address.

Richard I disagree with your statement Anybody that invests in a number of stocks and post to SI is foolish to post their email address . I have positions in twenty plus stocks in which there are SI threads and monitor and post on them all (Naxos is taking by far the most of my attention). I have recieved numerous e-mails from SI posters. The overwhelming number have been fine. As far as the angry or obnoxious ones, well you know the old line about sticks and stones. The delete button works just fine with those posts. I have also been hyped on some stock and the delete works on them as well. BTW I have also recieved phone calls at home from people who have used SI information to find me.

You also mention Notice that Mark didn't answer Anne or my public question on "problems". I bet the underground emails know the "correct answer" and are just happy as pigs in ... I have extensive off thread communication with Mark. We both have Bloombergs at work and can send each other messages during the day. We also speak on the phone every so often. We discus Naxos at length (it keeps him from rambling on about Michael Jordan). I will tell you I know no more about the "problems" with the assay from the "underground thread" than we have heard on this thread. From what I have gathered from this thread is that there have been some problem with consistency in the results. The numbers have varied from good to very good. Ledoux is uncomfortable with the variances and is trying to improve their understanding of the process. This is what I have pieced together and have posted comments to this effect here. I am uncomfortable with the concept of an "underground thread" as well. It clearly can be used by people to manipulate the thread and stock. Mark and I have both discussed this privately and he has expressed similar concerns. For the record I have also spoken with Kim but mostly about military history and the monetary status of gold (fwiw Kim and I disagree on the latter subject). I have also had a few phone converstions with Ken Rosenfeld but only recently.
I dislike manipulation as much as you and will not be a party to it. It is your choice as to whether you believe me any more than HungryLion.
