"There can be no actual good or evil if you don't have some kind of objective transcendent standard"

Same old weary Nimrod blathering. When are you Nims going to find the 'on' switch for your brains? Pathetic.

Nothing in life requires "transcendent" standards. Nor do you have any idea what an imagined 'transcendent' standard might be. You are just running your head which is running your mouth. Individuals, families, and societies interact in accordance with standards that have been cultivated and refined through centuries of trial and error and thoughtful reasoning. There is nothing "transcendent" about wishing to avoid rape, murder, and theft in your family and society. There is nothing "transcendent" about wanting to enjoy the mutual benefits of living in cooperation, safety, and harmony amongst your family, your friends, and your fellow human beings. Quite the opposite. Standards exist for the safe co-existence of ordinary people in an actual world.

Throwing in the word "transcendent" does nothing to improve civilised standards of interaction and conduct. In fact, so-called "transcendent" standards simply appends a "Chosen People" clause of exclusivity to particular groups in order to justify their preference, their power, and their (often atrocious) actions in any particular society.

Blathering the word 'transcendent' makes no argument, whatsoever. It simply demonstrates both your ignorance and your primitive lack of mental development. What else is new!

Atheist: I love my wife and children.

Fundy Special Superior Person: No, you don't. Nobody can care for anyone unless caring is "transcendent".

Atheist: How do you know that?

Fundy Special Superior Person: I just do. Because I am transcendent!!

"not that it is wrong or evil."

What people term 'evil' is simply what is hurtful or harmful. This is much more consistent for the atheist than it is for religious people whose "hurtful" and "helpful" is always extremely relative and dependent on their tribe, their 'chosen people' category, and their particular book or books of religious stories/dogma.

Superstitious people cobble their preferential status with very relative (and self-serving) standards which is why we have so much religious warfare. When standards are not grounded in Reason and Reality, they quickly become absurd and arbitrary.

If all 'chosen people' religious differences were surrendered and common standards of civilised behaviour adopted, peace would begin to pervade our planet rather than war.
