Why not go long QNTM and short APM instead of long RDRT? If the DD business is really getting shaken up, you'd expect RDRT to suffer more than QNTM because of the latter's DLT cash cow.

Also, as LK pointed out, RDRT still manufactures some of those TFI heads. Given the big production cutbacks, wouldn't you expect there to be a glut even for MR heads?

LK -

<<You suggested this possibility yourself in one of your earlier posts (after I said that APM's outlook was poor, and you mentioned APM as a possible short)>>

You're absolutely right! That's why I love these threads. The ability to gather info is tremendous. So many minds working on the same problem. (Certainly helps my simple mind). I shorted APM just after lawrence suggested a hedge - I'd been seriously considering it at the time. And you know, when Lawrence the great types, everyone should listen.(I only really like him cause he's such a Greenspan fan. BTW Lawrence, are you an Ayn Rand fan too? This is just a test to see how much you really know about the inner workings of old the old geezer.)

William T. - Actually I am long QNTM too.(again, as a result of these threads.) If you go back a while you can find that I got trashed by cheerleader Lawrence when I was Pro WDC. Everyday I log onto this sight I realize how much I have to learn...
