Admittedly I'm an old fart, and I forget numbers (and other things) all the time. My recollection is that Martin didn't live in that area, he was visiting.

I doubt there was a time in my life when I could have told someone the street address of a relative. One exception, I did know one of my grandparent's street numbers.

I'm not saying that nobody walks around with the street addresses of everybody they know in their head. I'm saying that it's probably not terribly rare to be unaware of street addresses of friends and relatives on one occasion or another. It can happen. And at night in the rain doesn't help.
