The kid certainly got a jump on him but why was Zim following him on foot after being told to back off......trying to be a hero of some sort? He took a shot to his nose but he had no reason to fear for his life based on the injuries he had.....why didn't he just try to get away? Neighbors had already called the cops and the first one showed up while Zim was still breathing heavily..... What happened lies squarely on the shoulders of you gun huggers and SYG laws will cause many more of these cases.... His gun was already racked and ready to go.....if he had to shoot why shoot to the heart, why not a leg or arm or shoulder.....he was close enough... Just coincidence he shot directly in the heart and almost instant death.....

I don't think you're following the trial that closely so when you say physical and eyewitness supports your assertions you don't know what you're talking about...
