>> Democracy.

It is a CHANCE at democracy. That's the reason we went to war in Iraq, that's the reason Bush pushed the "Freedom Agenda", and they would not have had this opportunity had it not been for the Iraq War. Obama has mishandled each and every one of these events to date, and had we had competent leadership it just MIGHT have made a difference.

Transition to democracy takes years, decades, to accomplish sometimes. These countries are hard cases. Bush gave them their shot.

It is funny that you believe in Egypt they should get there is fits and starts, but Iraq should have just been neat and clean.

Democracy.

And we should take note. The Muslim Brotherhood swept into power on the back of popular dissatisfaction with the status quo. Sensing that the populace was interested in only a narrow range of changes, they promised their focus was mainly economic, social issues need not apply. However, once in power they proceeded with an ambitious social program, moved to cement their control by gaming the existing laws, ignoring them when convenient and totally ignoring economic issues.,.

Hmm. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
