Major Newspapers Reject Pro-Life Ad, Image of Baby “Too Controversial”
..........................................................................

Life News ^ | July 5, 2013 | Caleb Parke

Washington, DC ( LiveActionNews) – A national pro-life organization is outraged after three major American newspapers rejected a pro-life ad as “too controversial.”

The Chicago Tribune, USA Today, and the LA Times refused to run an advertisement created by Heroic Media.

The ad features a hand holding a 20- to 24-week-old baby with the quote, “This child has no voice, which is why it depends on yours. Speak Up.”

Heroic Media Executive Director Joe Young said he was shocked and angered that the media outlets were willing to talk about the issue but were unwilling to show the reality of life at 20 weeks.

“I am disturbed that these papers would run article after article promoting the notion that abortion is a victimless act without consequences,” Young said. “The fact remains, children who are unique individuals – never again to be duplicated – are being killed in the most violent way imaginable and they feel the excruciating pain of that death.”

The newspapers took issue with the image of the baby.

“It seems as though it is okay to talk about the issue in general, but when you actually put a face to the discussion, then it becomes controversial,” Young said.

Last week after the House passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, Heroic Media put out a statement requesting that the pro-life community contact their senators and encourage them to consider and support the Act.

“Americans deserve to know the truth about the children sentenced to die for no fault of their own and that we have a chance to spare some of them through this legislation,” Young said.

The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act prevents an abortionist from performing an abortion at or after 20 weeks, based on empirical scientific medical evidence that proves that unborn babies can feel pain. Science shows that at eight weeks after fertilization, the unborn child reacts to touch, and at 20 weeks, the unborn baby responds to what would be felt as pain.

The image shows a 20- to 24-week-old baby in a person’s hands. Heroic Media’s goal was to show what life looks like at 20 weeks. The non-profit organization has resubmitted the ad with a different image, now one of a 20-week-old baby in utero.

The Chicago Tribune has now agreed to run the ad with the second image as long as Heroic Media indicates that it is an advertisement.

“Our hope is that the American public begins to advance this debate with both the mother and child in mind,” Young said.

Heroic Media is a non-profit whose mission is to educate the public in general and reach women facing unplanned pregnancies with life-affirming alternatives through the use of mass media, such as television commercials, internet outreach, and billboards.

“This issue, the late-term killing of developing children, is one that should be addressed in the U.S. Senate, and we encourage our fellow citizens to let their Senators know our desire to see that happen,” Young said.

Police Commandeer Homes, Get Sued
...................................................................
By MEGAN GALLEGOS

LAS VEGAS (CN) - Henderson police arrested a family for refusing to let officers use their homes as lookouts for a domestic violence investigation of their neighbors, the family claims in court.

Anthony Mitchell and his parents Michael and Linda Mitchell sued the City of Henderson, its Police Chief Jutta Chambers, Officers Garret Poiner, Ronald Feola, Ramona Walls, Angela Walker, and Christopher Worley, and City of North Las Vegas and its Police Chief Joseph Chronister, in Federal Court.

Henderson, pop. 257,000, is a suburb of Las Vegas.

The Mitchell family's claim includes Third Amendment violations, a rare claim in the United States. The Third Amendment prohibits quartering soldiers in citizens' homes in times of peace without the consent of the owner.

"On the morning of July 10th, 2011, officers from the Henderson Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at a neighbor's residence," the Mitchells say in the complaint.

It continues: "At 10:45 a.m. defendant Officer Christopher Worley (HPD) contacted plaintiff Anthony Mitchell via his telephone. Worley told plaintiff that police needed to occupy his home in order to gain a 'tactical advantage' against the occupant of the neighboring house. Anthony Mitchell told the officer that he did not want to become involved and that he did not want police to enter his residence. Although Worley continued to insist that plaintiff should leave his residence, plaintiff clearly explained that he did not intend to leave his home or to allow police to occupy his home. Worley then ended the phone call.

Mitchell claims that defendant officers, including Cawthorn and Worley and Sgt. Michael Waller then "conspired among themselves to force Anthony Mitchell out of his residence and to occupy his home for their own use." (
Waller is identified as a defendant in the body of the complaint, but not in the heading of it.)

Link to the rest

If the cops don't get slapped down for this, that's when it'll get really scary.

George Zimmerman: How bad was the M.E.?

Medical examiner Shiping Bao, left, and defense attorney Don West at the George Zimmerman trial on Friday. (Gary W. Green/Orlando Sentinel / July 5, 2013)

At the George Zimmerman trial Friday, another state witness was drawing terrible reviews for letting the state down.

This time it was medical examiner Shiping Bao, who performed the autopsy on Trayvon Martin.

Bao was a train wreck for the state,
Judge Alex Ferrer told Fox News Channel. "It's like he came with an agenda, and he was a horrible witness," Ferrer said. Ferrer shared the news that he had heard jurors were laughing at the exchanges between Bao and defense attorney Don West.

Larry Walters, legal analyst for WOFL-Channel 35, said the medical examiner was "in the tank" for the state. Walters cited this example: Bao's changing his opinion on the length of time Trayvon was alive after being shot.

Bao's testimony "imploded" on the state, CNN legal analyst Mark NeJame said. The medical examiner was "long, convoluted and a bit of a mess" and hurt the state's case, NeJame added.

WOFL's Debra Ferwerda said she was used to medical examiners' testimony being dry and boring. "This is very entertaining. He's so proprietary with his notes. It’s funny," she said.

WESH-Channel 2 legal analyst Richard Hornsby highlighted that Bao referred to forensic pathologist Vincent Di Maio's book. Hornsby predicted that Di Maio, a witness for the defense, will shred Bao's findings. That should be something to look forward to next week.

How bad was Bao?

"He was so bizarre and out there. It's like he was 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' the way he was testifying," Hornsby said. Because of Bao, the state ended its case weakly, Hornsby said.

Bao's changing his opinion probably helped the defense more than the state because the M.E. opened a window of doubt, WKMG-Channel 6 legal analyst Luis Calderon said. Bao highlighted how inexact the science can be when he changed his opinion, Calderon said.

WFTV-Channel 9's Bill Sheaffer said the jury might conclude that this medical examiner has a selective memory. But the big moment for Sheaffer was that Judge Debra Nelson wouldn't reverse herself on letting in evidence of marijuana in Trayvon's body. If the medical examiner changed his view and said the marijuana may have affected Trayvon's behavior, the defense could raise the issue in an appeal if Zimmerman is convicted, Sheaffer theorized.

The big news was that the state rested its case, and the defense began its. Mark O'Mara called Zimmerman's mother and uncle to balance testimony by Trayvon's mother and brother about the screams on a 911 call.

Both mothers had done a good job on the stand, WESH analyst Alisia Adamson said. WFTV's Sheaffer praised the defense for "an opening presentation with a bang."

Jorge Meza, Zimmerman's uncle, is a deputy sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, assigned to the courthouse division. WESH's Hornsby said he knew Meza and praised him as "one of the most the stand-up guys" and a deputy who treats everyone with respect. Meza said it was nephew Zimmerman screaming for help on the tape.

"I'm a little bit biased, but if he [Meza] said something to me, I would believe it, because I know him," Hornsby said.

Barack, Trayvon & Islam
...............................................................
Western Free Press ^ | July 6, 2013 | Burt Prelutsky

Some people insist that racism no longer exists in America. Clearly, that isn’t true.

After all, Barack Obama once said that Trayvon Martin looked like the son he might have had.

Inasmuch as Obama is half-white, can any of us imagine his making that statement if the 17-year-old who was known to be a dope-dealing thug had been a Caucasian? On the other hand, I suspect that when he gazes fondly at Eric Holder, the Attorney General who refuses to indict blacks for intimidating white voters, he sees himself with a little mustache.

This is the same Obama who, in spite of being ignorant of the facts, accused the Cambridge, MA, Police Department of “acting stupidly” for arresting Professor Henry Gates for disorderly conduct for no other reason than that Prof. Gates was black.

As he said at the time: “There’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That’s just a fact.”

No mention of the fact, no matter how inconvenient it might be, that African-Americans and Latinos commit a disproportionate number of crimes, particularly those of a violent nature.

That’s not to say Obama never singles out a white criminal. Just recently, he was dismissive of the traitorous Edward Snowden, who had done everything in his power to weaken America’s defenses and put a wedge between us and our allies, dismissing him as “a 29-year-old hacker.”

When asked if he had made any attempt to have him extradited from China or Russia, Obama petulantly replied, “I haven’t called President Xi. I haven’t called President Putin. I shouldn’t have to.”

So even though he thought a disturbing-the-peace complaint against Gates was so important that he hosted a beer summit at the White House,
he doesn’t think dealing with a traitor guilty of espionage is worthy of his time.

If a person weren’t frightened of being called a racist, one could make the case that defending America and its national interests just doesn’t rate very high on this jackass’s list of priorities.

After all, nothing as trivial as our national security must interfere with his golf, his fund-raisers and his photo ops in Africa. One of which took place at an embarkation site for the slave boats, but naturally there was no mention of the all-important role played by the Arabs and Muslims in that vile world-wide activity.

Those pinheads such as John McCain who insist we get involved in the Syrian Civil War, which pits one group of blood-thirsty Islamics against another, insist they have the ability to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys in spite of the fact that during his surprise visit to Syria, a goofily-grinning McCain posed with three known jihadists. I keep wondering if the folks who’d handle the vetting process would be the same brainiacs who granted Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden their security clearance.

Perhaps they’d leave it up to Rep. Jim McDermott (D, WA) who opposed the FBI’s posting photos of Most Wanted Terrorists because, he whined, it involved racial and religious profiling. On the other hand, this lamebrain who, along with Sen. Patty Murray, makes a laughingstock of Washington, considered the profiling and targeting of conservatives by the IRS a swell idea.

In England, Clive Hunt, 58, offered to pick up bacon sandwiches for a group of associates holding a business meeting. The friendly gesture got him canned because one of those at the meeting was Sharika Sacranie, 29, a Muslim.

The reason given by Hunt’s employer was that the offer, no matter how innocently it may have been made, constituted “a racist remark.”

I had two reactions. The first is that I bet he wouldn’t have lost his job if the non-pork eater had been Jewish. The second is that this is a very clear snapshot of the new Europe, where seven years ago British Airways fired a clerk named Nadia Eweida because she refused to remove the cross from around her neck.

In the past, Muslims twice attempted to conquer Europe.

The first time, Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi was defeated by Charles Martel at the Battle of Tours in 732. Eight hundred years later, Suleiman, while attempting to expand the Ottoman Empire, bit the dust at the Siege of Vienna.

But the third time, as is often the case, was the charm. This time, without swinging a saber or firing a shot, Islam took possession of the continent. All that was required of the Muslims was to wait for Europeans to defeat themselves through cowardice posturing as tolerance.

Today, Europe; tomorrow, America.

The following are 15 signs that the quality of jobs in America is going downhill really fast...

#1 The number of part-time workers in the United States has just hit a brand new all-time high, but the number of full-time workers is still nearly 6 million below the old record that was set back in 2007.

#2 In America today, only 47 percent of adults have a full-time job.

#3 Even though the U.S. economy created nearly 200,000 jobs in June, the number of full-time jobs actually decreased.

#4 There are now 2.7 million temp workers in the United States - a new all-time high.

#5 One out of every ten jobs in the United States is now filled through a temp agency.

#6 The U.S. economy has actually lost manufacturing jobs for four consecutive months.

#7 The official unemployment rate has been at 7.5 percent or higher for 54 months in a row. That is the longest stretch in U.S. history.

#8 According to one recent survey, 76 percent of all Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

#9 At this point, one out of every four American workers has a job that pays $10 an hour or less.

#10 High paying manufacturing jobs continue to be shipped overseas. Sadly, there are fewer Americans employed in manufacturing now than there was in 1950 even though the population of the country has more than doubled since then.

#11 Today, the United States actually has a higher percentage of workers doing low wage work than any other major industrialized nation does.

#12 The U.S. economy continues to trade good paying jobs for low paying jobs. 60 percent of the jobs lost during the last recession were mid-wage jobs, but 58 percent of the jobs created since then have been low wage jobs.

#13 Back in 1980, less than 30% of all jobs in the United States were low income jobs. Today, more than 40% of all jobs in the United States are low income jobs.

#14 At this point, an astounding 53 percent of all American workers make less than $30,000 a year.

#15 According to a study that was released by the Center for Economic and Policy Research, only 24.6 percent of all jobs in the United States qualify as "good jobs" at this point. In a previous article, I detailed the three criteria that they used to define what a "good job" is….

#1 The job must pay at least $18.50 an hour. According to the authors, that is the equivalent of the median hourly pay for American workers back in 1979 after you adjust for inflation.

#2 The job must provide access to employer-sponsored health insurance, and the employer must pay at least some portion of the cost of that insurance.

#3 The job must provide access to an employer-sponsored retirement plan.

All of this is absolutely heartbreaking.

Once upon a time, just about any adult that was willing to work hard in America could go out and find a good paying job that would support a middle class lifestyle.

Now those days are gone forever.
