You have the thesis wrong.

The Dems wanted single payer and universal health care, except the pubs blocked everything, so Obama tried to indulge them.

Obama allowed the pubs a year to fool around with it and then gave them most of what they wanted, yet they still bailed on him. This was originally a pub idea.

And so now you want to blame Obama because it has flaws. Any new system has flaws and the pubs will now not help to solve the flaws because they wanted it to fail in the beginning and they want it to fail now.

So you are blaming the wrong folks.

If the /dems could have done it by themselves we would have universal health care and a single payer system like medicare, like most other modern democratic countries.
