i like koh samui's stability

even when ever bangkok politics went pear shape, and crowds gathered around tanks in front of burning buildings, koh samui remained very extremely peaceful

its population live off of tourist trade, and knows the buttered side of their daily bread, and
outside agitators, should they ever dare to make appearance, would have no place to feed and lodge, and probably would get roughed up

and even should events go dire, there are a lot of ways and means to get off of island in a big hurry
