That would actually fit with the words of Genesis in which God instructed the earth and seas to bring forth life. But the earth and seas didn't do this out of some magical expression of nature, but at the command of God. The creator can command his creation. It's silly of you to reference Augustine anyway. He was a believer in God and Christ. Doesn't make any sense for you to champion him. You're just trying to give yourself a bogus intellectual sophistication.

Funny you should mention my not knowing St Augustine for spent time living living near that city in Florida
