They might disable embedding from that site, in which case you might see it when you posted it because you just got a cookie from the site, but people without that cookie might not see it. I'm not sure why your linked stopped working though. Maybe you got a cookie from a higher level which you needed to see the image at the link, but I don't think so because 1 - After going to your 2nd link I still can't get anything at the first link, and 2 - I don't think if that was the problem you would get a 500 error at the 1st link. Anyway you can imbed and animated gif in an SI post the same way you would embed a jpeg, png, or non-animated gif. I downloaded the image. Then I can unpload and embed using SI's image embedding tool at the top of the post edit screen.
