At end seems to day that gold can rise from this decline and the exponential rise will begin after 2015. My take would be a rally out of this low to the old highs in the next year or so and then a year or so of consolidation near the highs before the whole thing busts higher.
Miners not reacting as negatively to declines with some up yesterday.
Either way if the final low is not made until 2015 one could see a 100% move in the $HUI in the next year out of this for a trading rally.
Would not count out ABX being bought by a larger metals company here. Assets are great and a BHP or other would have the cap to sort out the debt. Must be on the radar of them or maybe China. The debt would not be an issue at all for them. They could prbably get it for $25-$30,
Nobody looking at this potential outcome. Could see KGC go to the Russians and ABX to China and the window to do this at these valuations might be quite small. .
ABX has made their own bed and it looks good on them IMO but some of the shorting might be by a potential buyer.
