Fortune has come out with their list of the top 500 Globally Public Traded companies

Here is a list of the TOP 10________________________________________

as we can see Exxon Mobil Lapped the field as being almost twice as profitable
earning 45 Billion dollars as number two Volkswagen which in at 28 billion and Number 3 Royal Duch Shell
was just a tad under that.

So Standard Oil, The Large German auto Maker and the Anglo Dutch Royal Dutch Shell were the big 3 in profiability...... (remember Enron came in number 7 in revenue.... the year that they lost so much money they went out of business and the leaders, committed suicide, died and went to Prison.so topline numbers can be deceptive.)

there are 3 Chinese companies in the top 10 and 6 of the 10 are oil companies... which shows that energy is still king.....although Banking, Insurance, Real Estate and specialists in other asset classes still are key players.
