Some Catholic kids I knew went to catechism. Don't know much about it but I know of some that it didn't take on. We were an open family as far as religion went, i did attend some Catholic services & had Catholic friends as well as Jewish too in Florida, & their ceremonies attracted curioisty too. That doesn't explain where your strong hostile opinions come from. And you? Grew up in a church going Baptist family - saved, baptized, in church whenever the doors were open. Though on the maternal side I was most influenced by, no one ever went to church in all the time I knew them. Not that they didn't believe, they just weren't churchgoers. Both sides were good decent folks. Friends went to every variety of church or no church. After I left home, I dropped all involvement in church for decades. I started going back to church in later years .. and praying semi-regularly .... for a number of personal and family reasons that are too involved to go into. On a non-personal basis, I'll say that Christianity (and the values it teaches) saves lives as well as souls. It makes a big difference to millions, is major force for good in the world, and is the foundation of western civilization. Without it our culture, our country will die. We can see it happening in Europe. When I contest people like you and the anti-God crowd here, it's because I know the damage you do to people who take the anti-God, anti-Christianity stuff seriously.
