Steve, I don't see the drive to sub-1k p233's and p266's like you say. I think the corporate customers are satisfied with p166's for the time being. So there isn't the market demand to go slashing prices across the board.

The consumer who is buying the sub-1k machines doesn't know the difference between p166 and p233. They would rather have the multimedia gear and peripherals than a faster CPU. This is a population that doesn't even know what MMX means except that it sounds cool.

I agree with your data entry thoughts. I just read a report of one company that is working on a computer in a vest that technicians can wear as they go troubleshooting or out in the stockroom. They want to implement voice recognition also for hands free interface. I think we will see more and more in this area.
