LNG has a lower energy density (energy/volume ratio) than fuels which are liquid at normal temperatures and pressures. So LNG tanks would have to be bigger than aviation fuel tanks.

LNG tanks also have to be a specific shape, with heavier walls. They won't fit in plane wings, which is where aviation fuel goes.

I can see LNG for trucks, but not planes.
