The problem there was that church started taking in gays as priests. That was a terrible idea and unbiblical. This is what Paul said about church leaders (from 1 Timothy 3) - they are to be stable family men:

Qualifications for Overseers and Deacons3 Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[ a] respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

8 In the same way, deacons[ b] are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

11 In the same way, the women[ c] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

Here is what Titus says about elders:

Appointing Elders Who Love What Is Good5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint[ a] elders in every town, as I directed you. 6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe[ b] and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 7 Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

The church leaders described in the NT fall into three categories:

episkopos = overseers (often translated bishop, but they weren't what we think of as bishops, being leaders only in their home congregation)

presbyters = elders (sort of an advisory council who managed the congregation's business, chose the overseers)

diakonos = servants (people who visited the sick, distributed aid to widows and orphans)

University of Toronto Education Professor Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

“Canadian education,” IYKWIMAITYD:

Police have arrested a University of Toronto professor and member of Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne’s transition team on several charges, including making child pornography.
Benjamin Levin, 61, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of distributing child pornography and one count each of making child pornography, counselling to commit an indictable offence and agreeing to or arranging for a sexual offence against a child under 16.
Levin, who is currently a professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and is the Canada research chair in education leadership and policy, was once deputy minister of education from 2004 to 2009 under former premier Dalton McGuinty. . . .
Levin was also named to Wynne’s transition team earlier this year after she became leader of the Ontario Liberal Party in January.

The article doesn’t say whether Professor Levin is into boys or girls, but since he’s a left-wing Canadian with a master’s degree from Harvard University, I’m guessing . . . boys.

(Hat-tip: Eye on Crazy.)

UPDATE: Oh, yeah, definitely boys:

That’s from a video listed on Professor Levin’s curriculum vitae page. The title of the video: “Why a good Canadian education makes for a happier, healthier society.” IYKWIMAITYD.

UPDATE II: A global menace:

The Toronto police investigation also involved officers from the London Police Service and the Censorship and Electronic Messaging Compliance Unit Department of Internal Affairs in New Zealand, according to a statement released by the Toronto police.
“It’s often the case in these types of investigations that we end up working with jurisdictions outside the country because Internet offences like this often pass through other jurisdictions,” said Detective Sergeant Kim Gross, the officer in charge of the Child Exploitation Unit at the Toronto Police Service. “So, he’s come on the radar in a few places.”

Yeah. I bet the radar isn’t all he’s come on in a few places.
