Hi Machaon; Actually, Zimmerman's testimony is that after he was told that "he didn't need to follow" he quit following. He was just minding his own business, looking for the street address... And Zimmerman's claim is that when he was jumped, he was walking back to his car, not following anybody.

Zim's job was simply to be one of the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. He was not authorized nor qualified to enforce any law or to take violent action of any kind. He was not courageous, he was a pussy with a gun....
