His best friend, a cop named Osterman(sp?), convinced and helped him get the gun according to Osterman.... I haven't heard the dog story. Osterman testified that he thinks everyone should carry.... "You just made the case for Zimmerman fearing for his life because he couldn't defend himself with his hands?" Zim wouldn't have been able to put up much of a fight as is illustrated by where he wound up very quickly, ie on his back on the ground with a busted nose. However, in even the most uneven confrontation, the losing fighter will try and defend himself(herself) with their arms and hands.... I think Zim was covering his face with his hands.... "Glad to see the logic working its way in." Is logic beginning to work it's way in in your mind?
