JDN: If you go back to the discussion I think you'll find that Mike's e-mail was in response to a suggestion that the 3" portable drive program that WDC has cancelled could have been a RDRT contract. Also, I would expect that an APM investor would have a great deal of interest in what's happening with the competition. Before I bought APM last spring, I learned as much as I could about RDRT as well, and concluded that APM was the better investment. What I have learned since then has convinced me that RDRT is the better investment over the next 2 to 3 quarters, by which time the story could change once again. I would hope to find any information about APM that could affect my RDRT holdings posted on the RDRT site also.
As an aside, I also follow IOM and find the most useful posts on that site to be those relating to competition.

<<Dear EYE Dr. Mike: I am confused. I thought this was the APM site. Perhaps you need to see an eye doctor if you are typing in the wrong stock symbol. You should type in RDRT to go to read right site. APM is Applied Magnetics site. Also, if you are interested in APM you should E-Mail APM not RDRT. Do you have any questions as to this procedure?? JDN>>

perhaps you should have your eyes <and head> examined;

i've read the last 20 or so posts, and clearly the future of both companies are intertwined, and this is recognized by other members of this board. Clearly, i am not he only one here comparing and discussing these two companies. hence any discussion of RDRT and APM should be welcome by shareholders of both companies. <besides, the RDRT board is way too quiet.>

and if RDRT's IR info is incorrect, perhaps you can clarify any discrepancies.

Mike

JDN,

Yes you are confused. The EyeDrMike did us a good service by verifying what many of us had already heard. I thought I heard APM provided the heads for the WDC portable program at last qtr's WDC earnings conf call.

Info from RDRT, IMHO, is just as likely to be true as info from APM, thank you very much. I don't think either company will purposely lie but one company might choose not to mention unflattering facts.

Do you have any additional questions as to how investing research works??
