Justa, et al

"I searched for the article but could not find it elsewhere as I do not have a subscription to the San Jose Mercury News."

You may want to download a free program called PointCast. This is an example of "push technology." Customize the program to track and update with any news, ticker info, etc. for your favorite stocks. You can also receive sports, weather info, and stories from several national newspapers, one of which is the San Jose Mercury News. The story with qoute from Art Z.is in there.

I enjoy and appreciate your contributions to the UTEK thread. Thanks.

Justa:
The entire article re AZ's quote appeared on The Pointcast Network - San Jose Mercury Times - Silicon Valley Section. That's why I can't paste a hot link into this board. However, anyone can view the entire article by going into PointCast. The Pointcast software is available for free download from the CnnFn homepage at the following link:

Also giving views of the Asia Fallout are:
Richard S. Hill, COE, Novellus Systems, Inc.
G. Dan Hutcheson, President of VLSI Research
T. K. Kwak, President, Tokyo Electron Korea
Charles McKenna, Vice President, Varian Labs

On yesterday's Moneytalk program, I pereived that BB was unconcerned about Asia's impact on UTEK on a go-forward basis because UTEK's Asia business is only a small part of UTEK's total bsusiness, because they will be little impacted by the oversupply of DRAM memory, and becuase their new products (e.g. P-GILD) woud be the drivers of UTEK's future earnings growth. Still, it's a little disconcerting when UTEK's head honcho issues such a caution. Maybe he's practicing getting expectations down so that when actual results come in, they look that much better.

BTW, I really like your nifty writing style, but you really shouldn't poke fun at the height challenged people :-).

The other scenario for "another buying opportunity for long term investors" would be an earnings warning by ANY of the semi equipt manufacturers, or given UTEK's exposure, more bad news out of the disk drive sector. Early warning season will soon be upon us; if I were Mr. Short, I'd be waiting until the end of the month to take advantage of this. As a Mr. Long, I'll be waiting until then to add to my position, too, and I'll bet most of the fund managers will, too.
