I read a number of his missives while he was in prison, and my takeaway was that after every major turn, it was just a matter of time before it became clear what the 'turn' was on the dates he assigned, and in which direction, too: soybeans, Krona, platinum, tech stocks, coffee, wars, etc. There's always something that would fit plus or minus a few days. Since my broker won't let me invest retroactively, I didn't find them helpful. I did find them interesting regardless.
