I don't think the actual monetary damage to consumers will amount to a hill of beans compared to the punitive damages that Apple is going to have to pay. The goal is to change the monopolists behavior, and that takes serious fines. The rampant denial running on the Apple board is just hilarious. This is as serious and bad an outcome as it comes. The ruling is crystal clear, and damning.
