I don't think it was unrealistic to expect Lumia to show up in the top 3 at Verizon or TMobile in June. After all, the 928 was #3 at Verizon in May after only a couple weeks on the market. What that shows is there was there is pent up demand for Lumia products that fizzled out after a month. And the 521 is ridiculously cheap.

Not long ago, I predicted Lumia volumes in the US to be nearly a million in Q2. Now, I think we'll be lucky to break 600K. A year ago, Nokia launched the Lumia 900 and probably sold 400K. So it's not likely that will be enough for 6x market growth in the US.
