Not a fan of gold. Have a theory that it is much harder to have a flight to gold when gold is not monitized. Prior to the 1930s the choice worldwide was, do I want to keep this damn paper or turn it in for gold. Ten or 20 $$ in any currrency got you a gold coin. Not true any more. If you fear the currency you have to make a major investment decision to buy gold. The masses of the world no longer have the same option. Having bought a huge 2 ft, 6 in" deep "copper" pan in Peru for far less an the original asking price only to see the copper disapear in a short time, I wonder how trusting people are to buy non monitary gold. So gold has a lot of problems but at some point anything has value even my iron pot.
