What wonderful programming on PBS lately, documentaries on the most thrilling archaeology discoveries of ancient Egyptian tombs & their way of life . Tnite was one on the re~engineering of the famed war chariots from wheel/spoke design to yoke/ harnesses for the horses which they've found intact. These Egyptians recorded everything meticulously like all details of battles, accomlishments of their Kings, inventories & so many stories but never a mention of Moses or any Hebrews in captivity ever ? Not once?

So much history that gets ignored that is right there in all Universities, museums & astounding what they do know & have uncovered from antiquity, which paints such a clear view of human history aside from the usual Biblical crackpot sources. You find that religious based acrchaeological analysis always carrying such narrowly confined , preoccupied self centered skewed vision, fortunately we have real scientists that make the real finds, read the inscriptions & preserve the legacy of the true human past.

These fundamentalists today are still really living the medieval dream & can't see the truth for the taboos , which for them would be to know anything about the real study of human history, which the Bible is only a tiny fragment compared to the huge bulk of collections we have of the past.

Immortality was the chief concern of the Egyptian , its priests, rites & rituals ( like who comes after?) making sure you were prepared for appearing before the God of Judgement in the after life, how close the circle comes when we look at the original sources? How similar the templates of the stories?

There was so much energy in these times, first domestication of horses & crafts , long centuries of developing human skillsets, its no wonder a curious mind would always feel they must see the remnants of that monumental past. What we call "biblical" is only a tiny chink in the Great Wall of history we do know off and fundies today would have their exact counterparts then as now, very one sided , conservative medieval infinitely narrow thinking & stereotype.
