Another anecdotal comment I learned from the meeting I attended.
The lecturer said that Negro or very dark skinned individuals have problems using the injection devices from the standpoint that they often do not see the veins clearly and it is not desirable to inject into a vein if at all possible. He mentioned Caverjet(?sp) and then proceeded to produce two 15" props, one white and one black which he
lets patients practice injecting on. For the squeamish, they produce some type of auto-injector similar to the devices that deliver the lancets to the fingertip to obtain a sample of blood for glucose testing etc. Just place it flush, pull the trigger, and count to five before pulling away. I don't think there is a needle small enough to
make that a desirable choice over a pill.
