Ibexx - Thanks for the articles on Japan, US, 300 mm Wafers and 0.18 micron processes.

At the recent Intel analysts meeting, Craig Barrett said thet Intel's 0.18 micron program was progressing rapidly.

Barrett also said that 300 mm wafer production looked like it may occurr in the 1999/2000 time frame. Wafer Stepper/Scanners will be the gating factor here.

When the 300 mm wafers do go into production, Barrett estimated they would "intercept" the 0.15/0.13 micron process technology, skipping the 0.18 micron process.
