**To ALL BOTTOM FISH-FINDER

Just in case this be the mother and father of all bottom-fishing times, its only fair that we all be in the same boat and have the same tackle. (By the way George you have a wonderful way with words, I like)

So suppose you want to get your own bottom-fish list, ie all those stoxs in the resource or any other sector thats now trading at their 52 week lows. There could be a number of reasons, fallout from Bre-X, tax loss selling as a result of that, recent drop in gold price, quiet time of year, all or any, or more ot these. Doesn't matter, you just want your bottom-fishing list.

Now listen up cause its quite easy to do and involves 3 basic steps:
1) Download a software package, its free for a demo for 1 week
2) Setup the software
3) Setup your filters to get your list

Details:
1) Go to websit chartsmart.com, download software (takes bout 40 mins, probably less if you have a 33.6 or faster modem), print-off the update and setup instructions. You may also want to download the manual.

2) Setup the software, follow the instructions, should only take 5 minutes, push F2 so you get the Windows min/max handles

3) There are basically 2 menus, the chart menu which is where you arrive at, and the filter menu, where you go by clicking on rfilt , click on EXIT to get back to chart menu.

First a little driving lesson on the chart menu.
You see lots of buttons across the top, VSE, TSE, MSE, ASE on the right.
To get a chart of say Donner
- click on VSE, thats where it trades
- click on next for next symbol, type DML in the space where cursor is flashing, push enter, and you get a chart of DML, its that simple
- so now you are agenius, if you know the symbol and exchange you can get a very good chart on anything that trades in Canada
- if you don't know symbol or exchange, click on list and type in some letters of the company,
enter then select your choice, follow onscreen instructions

So now you be expert at that, lets create bottomfish list
1)Click rfilt, takes you to filter screen with lots of things
- click top right, View, opens up box on right, this is a provided list
- click on All Stocks Criteria, rename to Res Bot-fish, click yellow box
2) Now we set filters to get your bottom-fish list
-for Price at the left put something like $0.12 in to filter out stuff trading below, (you can reset this later)
- for Daily Volume put in 5000 to make sure it is trading, not a dead fish
- click all of the VSE, TSE, ASE, MSE if you want bottom fish from all of these exchanges
- click on Sector Selection, put a check in Mining and Exploration (uncheck all others), click yellow box
- click on long term filters, gets you to new menu
- for Average Volume put in 5000, so we get liquidity
- for Cyclic Price put in 10% for price from low over last 52 weeks, click EXIT
- back on rflt screen click UPDATE, calculates your list of 377 bottom fish, click yellow area
- click SYMBOM and ASCEND to sort alphabetically
- click EXIT, takes you back to chart menu
- click grp, to go to your list, click in yellow box to clear
This is now your filtered bottom-fish list

Now pour yourself a good one, or settle down with a coffee
- push f or b on keyboard to cycle forward and back through your list

This is your mother of all bottom-fishing lists.

Now I can't go through all of the features of this program here, but from this list you can create a smaller "watch list" as you go through the 377 companys, an "alarm" list, and for anything you buy, a "portfolio list".

You can sort on just one of the exchanges, change any of your criteria, and create other lists.

On the rflt page, click on any of 49 pre-supplied lists of companies in various index categories and run UPDATE, then go back to chart menu, click on grp, and cycle f and b through the charts.

Good luck, you may want to become a subscriber, so visit back to the web site for those details.

As for what to buy, I find that buying next weeks paper yesterday helps!
