wow. when they big tree fell on my house I was in maine on a job site. My wife and two little boys were home and sitting on the couch in the family room where the wing was. It must have been a derango, they said 90 MPH we lost 5 big oaks that night.

So my wife heard this wind and something told here to go to the basement, we have camped in all kinds of weather she is not the type to run away but she went into the basement, before they got to the bottom of the stairs they hear a loud bang and the house shook. When the wall sheared off a steal beam fell and landed on the couch crushing it, the couch they were on just 30 seconds earlier.

and it was their bed time, since I was out of town they would have all slept in the master bed, the tree 2/3s the way up landed on the master bed and a 12" diameter branch fell forced against the door, they had to go over the wall to get into the room.

the kids stayed up a little later that night or they would have all been in that bed
